Unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, allow paramedics to assess the scene of an accident before they arrive on site. UPEI is one of the few institutions testing the science behind their use in the field.
I participated with Holland College PEI, EMS and the Canadian Military in a Mock disaster UAV study.
This study involved the use of UAV technology to assist EMS paramedics with disaster evaluation.
Over this three day event, I provided a UAV platform to allow students to observe from an aerial point of view for both night and day time operations.
Thank you to Dr.Trevor Jain and Dr. Aaron Sibley for an amazing experience!
